Wheat Procurement to Start from April 1 in Bhopal and Indore Divisions of Madhya Pradesh

A major update has come for farmers in Madhya Pradesh. The state government has officially announced the schedule for wheat procurement for the Rabi marketing season 2026–27. According to officials, government procurement of wheat will begin from April 1 in the Bhopal, Indore, Ujjain and Narmadapuram divisions.

The procurement will be carried out at the Minimum Support Price (MSP) so that farmers can receive fair value for their produce. Over the past few years, Madhya Pradesh has emerged as one of the leading wheat producing states in India.

Divisions Where Procurement Will Begin

As per the government schedule, wheat procurement will start from April 1 in Bhopal, Indore, Ujjain and Narmadapuram divisions. A large number of farmers cultivate wheat in these regions, therefore procurement operations are conducted on a large scale.

To avoid long waiting queues, a digital token system will be used at procurement centers. Farmers will receive a specific time slot for bringing their produce to the centers.

Registration is Mandatory for Farmers

Farmers must complete registration before selling wheat at government procurement centers. Registration can be done through the MP E-Uparjan Portal, cooperative societies, public service centers or cyber cafes.

During registration, farmers are required to provide Aadhaar details, Samagra ID, bank account information and land ownership details. Without proper registration, farmers will not be able to sell their produce at government centers.

Facilities at Procurement Centers

The government has directed officials to ensure proper arrangements at procurement centers including weighing machines, gunny bags, drinking water facilities and shaded waiting areas for farmers.

Officials also said that payments will be transferred directly to farmers' bank accounts through digital systems to maintain transparency.

Possibility of Record Procurement

Agriculture experts believe that wheat production in Madhya Pradesh is expected to remain strong this year due to favorable weather conditions. As a result, the total procurement figures for the state could surpass previous years.
